Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Step 1: Draw a big circle near the top of the paper as a guide for Mickey Mouse's head. First draw four small marks for the height and width of the circle, then connect the marks using curved lines. Sketch lightly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. The circle doesn't have to be perfect. It's just a guide. If you're struggling drawing the circle, trace the outer rim of a coin, a lid or any other object with a circular edge.

Step 2: Draw a curved horizontal line across the circle. This construction line will help you place Mickey Mouse's facial features later. Add a curved vertical line that intersects the first line for another construction line.

Step 3: On the upper left side of the head, draw a smaller circle as a guide for the first ear. Draw it the same way as the head. Start with short marks, then connect the marks with curved lines. Make the circle a bit longer from top to bottom and more oval-like. Add another small circle on the top, right side of the head as a guide for Mickey Mouse's other ear. Pay very close attention to the size of the ears in relation to the head.

Step 4: Using the four marks method, draw yet another circle below the head as a guide for the body. This circle should be a little to the right of the head. Draw it smaller than the head but bigger than Mickey's ears.

Step 5: On the lower, left side of the body circle, draw a big oval for the fist. Mickey's hands are big, so draw this oval almost as big as the body circle. Now draw an angled line from the head to the oval as a guide for the arm.

Step 6: On the top, left side of Mickey Mouse's body, draw a long diagonal line as a guide for the other arm. At the end of the line, draw a small circle as a guide for the other hand. On the top, right side of that circle, draw a small arc as a guide for the fingers.

Step 7: Below the body, on the left side, draw a short, diagonal line as a guide for the first leg. At the end of the line, draw a big circle as a guide for the first foot. Mickey has big feet, so draw this circle almost as big as the circle for the body.

Step 8: Draw another sloping line under the body, on the right, as a guide for Mickey Mouse's other leg. Below that line, draw a small circle as a guide for the other foot. To the right of the circle, draw a big arc as a guide for the tip of the foot.

That's it for the guides! For the next steps, use darker lines for a more finished drawing.

Step 9: Draw a small oval inside Mickey Mouse's head for the nose. Place the nose under the horizontal construction line and slightly to the right of the vertical line. Above the nose, draw a curved, horizontal line for the top part of the muzzle.

Step 10: Above the nose, draw a long arc for the first eye. This eye should be on the left side of the vertical construction line. The shape of Mickey Mouse's eyes should be very long but not very wide. Draw another long arc on the right side of the vertical line for the other eye.

Step 11: Inside each eye, at the bottom, draw a small oval for Mickey's pupils. Shade in the ovals to make the pupils darker.

Step 12: Below the nose, draw a long, curved horizontal line for the top part of the mouth. Pay attention to how long this line is in relation to the rest of the head. Draw a small mark on either end for the smile lines. Draw a shorter, curved line under the smile for Mickey Mouse's open mouth.

Step 13: Inside Mickey 's mouth, draw two short, curved lines for the tongue. Under the mouth, draw a longer curved line for the lower lip.

Step 14: Use the initial lines as guides to draw the left side of the face. Follow the basic path of the main circle and horizontal construction line to draw a curved line and create the cheek. The line should start to the left of the lower lip, then curve up and in and end close to the line above Mickey Mouse's nose. Draw a curved line the same way on the right side for the other cheek.

Step 15: Add another curved line around the eyes for the rest of the mask around Mickey Mouse's face. This line should surround the eyes and form sort of a widow's peak at the top. The top part of the arcs should touch the top edge of the main circle. This line should connect to the cheek lines on the sides and form peaks there too.

Step 16: Use the remaining lines as guides to draw the rest of Mickey Mouse's head. Simply darken the outer edges of the guides at the top to create the shape of the head. If you think the ears you drew are too big or too small, fix them now.

Step 17: Use the angled line on the left side as a guide to draw Mickey Mouse's arm. Follow the path of the guide as you draw the arm around it. Curve the shape of the arm as you follow the guide to create the elbow. Keep the lines close to the guide so that the arm is skinny. At the bottom of the arm, draw a curved, donut-like line for the top part of the glove.

Step 18: Use the oval underneath as a guide to draw the fist. Darken the oval but add an extra curved line at the bottom for the folded finger. Add a couple of curved lines on the right for the knuckles and a few more inside Mickey's glove for extra detail.

Step 19: Darken the right side of the circle under the head for the first part of Mickey Mouse's body. Add a small line above the fist for the visible portion of the left side of the body. Below the circle guide, draw a couple of square- like lines for the bottom part of the shorts. These angled lines should be right above the initial guides for the legs.

Step 20: Draw a long curved line across the body for the top part of the shorts. Mickey wears his shorts high up, so draw the line close to the top of the body. Draw two ovals for the buttons on his shorts. The oval on the right should be smaller because of the body's angle.

Step 21: Draw the shape of Mickey Mouse's other arm around the diagonal line on the right. Draw a curved line at the end of the arm for the glove's opening.

Step 22: Use the shapes above the arm as guides to draw Mickey Mouse's other hand. Darken the outer edge of the guides and add a curved line at the top for the first finger. Divide the initial arc at the top into three thinner arcs to create the fingers. Draw another arc on the left side of the guides for the thumb. Make the base of the thumb thinner. Add a curved line to the open palm at the bottom.

Step 25: Draw the shape of Mickey's other leg around the initial guide line. Draw a curved line at the bottom for the other shoe's opening.

Step 26: Darken the outer edge of the initial guides to create the shape of the other foot. Draw a short, curved line inside for the shoe's crease. Draw a long, wavy line on the lower, left side of the body for Mickey Mouse's tail.

Final Step: Color your Mickey Mouse drawing using color pencils, markers or even crayons! Color the body and nose black except for the face. When you color the nose, leave a small oval at the top blank to represent glare. Color the face peach. If you don't have peach, use yellow- orange or pink. Use brown and dark red for the inside of the mouth, and pink for the tongue. Color Mickey's shorts red. The buttons are white, so leave them blank. Use yellow for the shoes.
