Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

How to Draw Timon Step 1

Step 1: Start by drawing a big circle on the page. This will be the basic shape for the Timon’s head. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide.

Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the circle, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the lines so that they contour to the shape. These will be construction lines that will help you place Timon's facial features later on.

Step 3: For guides for Timon's eyes, draw two circles sitting on top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical construction line. The circle on the right should be thinner because of perspective.

Step 4: Below the horizontal construction line, draw a big oval as a guide for Timon's nose. The right side of the nose should graze the right side of the main circle.

Step 5: On the lower left side of the circle, draw a shape similar to the letter U with a line over it as a guide for Timon's mouth. Use the construction lines as a guide to draw the top line that extends from the vertical line under the nose to the left side of the horizontal line. Then draw the arc underneath.

Step 6: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic Timon shape. Now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

Step 7: Tighten the shape of Timon's nose by following the initial guide. Make the bottom pointier as you darken the lines. Draw a series of curved lines that stretch out toward the right eye to form the bridge of the nose.

Step 8: Draw Timon's upper eyelids using the initial circles as guides. First draw a horizontal line across the circles, then draw an arc on top. The result should be similar to a bell.

Step 9: On each eye, draw a small half-circle under Timon's eyelid and shade it in for the pupil. Draw the arc at the bottom for the lower part of the eye.

Step 10: Draw a wavy shape above each eye for Timon's eyebrows. Notice how the eyebrow on the left arcs up, while the eyebrow on the right arcs down a bit to give him that sly look. Draw a couple of lines that connect to the eyes for extra detail.

Step 11: Use the initial U shape as a guide to draw Timon's mouth. Draw an arc on the upper right side as the smile line and give the shape curvier lines.

Step 12: Draw the teeth inside Timon's mouth. Simply draw a bar on the upper and lower parts of the mouth and add a few small lines within the shapes for the individual teeth. Draw another curved line inside for Timon's tongue.

Step 13: Use the initial circle as a guide to draw Timon's face. Draw a curved line on the left side to create his cheek and neck. Draw a wavy line on the right side to create Timon's other cheek, chin and the other side of his neck.

Step 14: Draw the hair on Timon's head using the top part of the initial circle as a guide. The hair mainly consists of a series of jagged lines for a spiky, messy look.

Final Step: For a completely finished Timon drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color his hair red. The main part of his fur is dark yellow, while the fur around his mouth is light yellow. Timon's eyebrows, eyelids, nose and ears are brown. The space between the eyebrows and eyelids, the inside of the ears and mouth, and the shine on the nose are light brown. His tongue is pink. That’s it!
