The written step-by-step video tutorial:

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Step 1: Start by drawing a small circle near the top of the paper as a guide for Bowser's head. First make four small marks to determine the circle's height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a small, circular object like a coin or a lid.

Step 2: Inside the head, draw a curved horizontal line as a guide to help you place this Super Mario Bros. character's facial features later. On the top, right side, draw a short, curved vertical line for another construction guide. On the sides of the head, near the top, draw two curved shapes with pointy tips as guides for the horns. Don't make Bowser's horns too big. The horn on the right should be smaller than the horn on the left.

Step 3: Below the circle, make a small mark for the first part of the guide for the jaw. Connect the mark to the sides of the head using curved lines to complete the guide for Bowser's jaw. Curve the top sides of this line outward so that the shape is wider at the top than at the bottom.

Step 4: On the lower, left side of the head, draw a big oval as a guide for this Nintendo character's body. Use the four-marks method to draw this oval too. Make the length longer than the width. Pay attention to the size of the oval. It should be about twice as big as Bowser's head. A big part of the oval on the top, right side will be behind the head, so don't draw that section.

Step 5: On the lower, left side of the body, draw a small circle as a guide for the first fist. Use the four-marks method again to draw this circle. It's okay to overlap the edge of the body. Most of the circle should be inside the body. This circle should be about the same size as Bowser's head. On the right side of the body, draw another circle as a guide for the other fist. This circle should be smaller than the one on the left. Don't draw this circle too far away from the body.

Step 6: On top of the fist on the left, draw a long, curved line as a guide for the top part of the arm. This line should be similar to a tall arc on its side. The top of the arc should be very close to the head. Draw two short lines that connect the circle on the right to the head for the top part of Bowser's other arm.

Step 7: On the lower, left side of the body, draw two short, curved lines as guides for the top part of Bowser's first leg. Below the lines, draw a shape that's similar to a half-circle as a guide for the first foot. The left side of this shape should be pointier than the right side.

Step 8: On the right side, draw a set of similar shapes as guides for this Nintendo character's other leg and foot. The curved line for the top part of this leg should be longer than the top part of the leg on the left. The half-circle-like shape for Bowser's foot should be pointier on the right side.

That's it for the guides! For the next steps, use darker lines for a more defined drawing.

Step 9: Inside the head, on the top, left side of the guides, draw a thick, curved shape for the first eyebrow. Add some short, angled lines on the top side to make Bowser's eyebrow more bushy. The top part of the eyebrow should be wide and the bottom part narrow. To the right of the vertical guide line, draw a similar shape but flip it around and make it smaller for this Super Mario Bros. character's other eyebrow.

Step 10: Below each eyebrow, draw a small, angled line for the eyes. Bowser's eyes should be similar in shape to triangles. The eye on the right should be a bit smaller. Inside each eye, close to the top edges, draw a big dot for the pupils.

Step 11: Below the eyes, draw a short, curved line for the first part of the muzzle. Use the initial horizontal line as a guide to draw the sides of the top part of the muzzle. Draw a long, curved line for the top part of Bowser's open mouth. Use the initial lines as guides for placement. Add a curved line to the left so that the top part of the open mouth splits in the middle. The left side of the mouth should curve along the edge of the initial circle. The right side of the muzzle should be round.

Step 12: Draw a line below the previous shape for the bottom part of the open mouth. Curve the line up and to the left toward the edge of the initial circle to make the shape of Bowser's open mouth longer. Draw two curved lines along the path of the initial guide for the parted chin. Draw a curved line on the left side of the head for the cheek-like part of the top jaw. Use curved lines to darken the initial line on the bottom for the rest of the lower jaw.

Step 13: Draw a series of small, triangular shapes along the edges of the open mouth for Bowser's teeth. Don't draw too many teeth. Space them out far away so that they don't crowd each other. Between the open mouth, draw a couple of curved lines for the other side of the jaw and for the tongue. Darken the line to the right of the eyes for the other side of Bowser's jaw.

Step 14: Draw a series of curved lines on top of Bowser's head, between the horns, for the hair. The lines should come together at the top to create pointy shapes. Don't draw individual hair strands. Draw big clumps of hair instead. Make the bottoms of the clumps wide. Don't draw too many clumps of hair. Draw a few curved lines above the eyebrows for the base of the clumps.

Step 15: Darken the lines on the top, left side of the head for this Nintendo character's first horn. Draw a couple of curved lines under the horn for the thick base. Darken the curved lines to the right of the head to create Bowser's other horn. Draw a couple of shorter lines under the horn for the base but don't overlap the hair. Draw a couple of slit-like shapes inside the muzzle for the nostrils.

Step 16: Darken the left edge of the small circle on the left for the fist. Make the line more wavy for this Super Mario Bros. character's knuckles. Lightly sketch a series of curved lines across the circle for the folded fingers that form a fist. The fingers look similar to the number 3 with an extra line at the bottom. Darken the lines when you get them right. Draw a curved line along the top, right edge of the initial circle for the thumb that's folded over the fingers. On the bottom of Bowser's thumb, draw a small line for his claw.

Step 17: Draw a rectangular shape across the arm guide for the studded band. Bowser's arm band should be very close to the fist. Sketch lightly at first and then darken the line when you get the shape right. Draw a series of small, triangular shapes across the band for the pointy studs. Darken the initial arc-like guide for the arm but make the line more wavy for the muscles. To the left of the fist, draw a curved line for the studded wristband. Draw a few small, triangular shapes along the wristband for the pointy studs.

Step 18: Draw a couple of small cone shapes along the curve on the back for the spikes on the shell. Draw the cones close to the edge of the initial oval. Add a curved line under them for the spike's base. Draw the first two spikes far enough apart so that there's plenty of space between them. Draw a couple more spikes in the space remaining but don't add the curved base at the bottom. Darken the initial oval for the top of the shell. Draw a couple of curved lines above Bowser's arm for the lower edge of the shell.

Step 19: Draw a few small, triangular shapes along the left side of the jaw for the studs on the collar. Draw a curved line that connects the studs to create the actual collar. Darken the initial oval to create the body. Make the bottom edge lower than the initial oval. Draw a long, curved line across the front part of Bowser's body for the edge of the chest plate. Draw a series of curved, horizontal lines for the ridges on the chest plate.

How to Draw Bowser Super Mario Nintendo Full Body 20

Step 20: Lightly sketch three curved lines across the small circle on the right for the folded fingers. The lines should be similar to a curved letter E with an extra line on the bottom. Darken the lines when you get the shape right. On the left, draw a couple of curved lines for Bowser's thumb and the claw. Draw a few small, triangular shapes on the left side of the fist for the studs on the wrist band. Darken the initial edge of the small circle to create the band itself. Don't overlap the studs. Darken the initial guides on the left side for the arm but make the lines curvier for the muscles.

Step 21: Darken the outer edges of the guides on the lower, left side to create Bowser's first leg and foot. On the lower, left side of the foot, draw three small, curved, cone-like shapes for the claws on the toes. Draw a curved line between each claw for the toes and darken the rest of the foot.

Step 22: Darken the outer edges of the shapes on the right to create this Nintendo character's other leg and foot. On the left side of the foot, draw two small, cone-like shapes for the claws on the toes. Don't overlap the lines for claws. Add a line between them for the toes. Darken the rest of Bowser's foot. To the left of the other leg, draw a small, pointy shape for the tail. On top of the tail, draw two triangles for spikes.

Step 23: Go over the final sketch lines with a pen, marker or any other type of permanent ink. Take your time and be careful when you ink your drawing to avoid any accidents. After the ink dries, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser for a cleaner drawing of Bowser from Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. video games.

Final Step: Color your Bowser drawing using colored pencils, markers or crayons! Use red-orange for the hair and eyebrows, and dark red for the spike bases and the inside of the mouth. Use peach or light brown for the spikes, horns, lower part of the head and chest plate. Use black for the bands and collar. Don't overlap the studs! Use dark green for the top of the shell and yellow-green for Bowser's face. Color the rest of the body yellow. Don't forget to pause the video after each step to draw at your own pace.
