Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Mew from Pokemon. A new drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

How to Draw Mew Step 1

Step 1: Start by drawing a small tilted oval at the top of the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide for Mew’s head.

How to Draw Mew Step 2

Step 2: Inside the oval, add a vertical line that splits the shape in half. Draw another horizontal line near the bottom of the shape that contours to the shape of the oval. These will be construction lines that will help you place Mew’s features later on.

How to Draw Mew Step 3

Step 3: Draw two arcs right above the horizontal construction line in Mew’s head on either side of the vertical construction line. These arcs will be his eyes. Draw in some construction guides that will help you place Mew’s appendages.

How to Draw Mew Step 4

Step 4: Below Mew’s head, draw another oval similar to his head, only a bit smaller. Connect the two ovals with two lines that angle in toward the head and form the body.

Step 5: Draw two small lines on either side of his body to make Mew's arms. Draw two longer vertical lines below the body to create the legs.

Step 6: Draw a curved line behind Mew's body for his tail. First draw a curved line that starts on the lower right side of his body and moves up toward his neck. Then continue the line on the other side to the left of his head and curve it upward above his head.

How to Draw Mew Step 7

Step 7: That's it for the initial sketch! You have the basic Mew shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

How to Draw Mew Step 8

Step 8: Draw Mew's ears on top of his head. Draw them as triangles with rounded tops and bulging sides.

How to Draw Mew Step 9

Step 9: Tighten the shape of Mew’s head and draw a small curve on the bottom of his head to create his muzzle.

How to Draw Mew Step 10

Step 10: Darken the shape of Mew’s eyes. Make a curved line inside each eye to represent his pupils. Mew has bright eyes, so draw a circle on the top part of each of his pupils to indicate glare. Draw two short vertical lines between Mew's eyes.

How to Draw Mew Step 11

Step 11: Using the line as a guide, draw the right arm, which sits below Mew’s head. Give him three small fingers at the end of his hand, which are a series of zigzags or small triangles.

How to Draw Mew Step 12

Step 12: The right leg is an arc that starts at the top part of the oval that makes Mew's body shape. The leg arc extends to the outside of the body oval. Draw another arc next to it on the inside of the body that faces the opposite way. Mew’s foot is basically a really tall U shape that gets wider at the bottom. Don’t forget to draw in Mew's three toes.

How to Draw Mew Step 13

Step 13: Now darken in the shape of Mew’s body. Connect the top of the right leg to the underside of the right arm. Draw in the left side of the body by following the basic shape, but make him slightly thinner.

How to Draw Mew Step 14

Step 14: Draw the left leg by following the shape of the oval that makes Mew's body. Draw the left foot under his body and make it look just like the right foot, complete with three toes.

How to Draw Mew Step 15

Step 15: Draw the left arm under Mew’s head by using the guide. Don’t forget to give him three small fingers on the hand.

Step 16: Tighten Mew’s tail by simply making the guide line thicker. The part of his tail that is connected to his body is a little thicker than the rest. The tip of his tail is especially thick.

How to Draw Mew Step 17

Step 17: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Mew from Pokemon. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.

How to Draw Mew Step 18

Step 18: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Mew! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Mew.

How to Draw Mew Last Step

Final Step: For a completely finished Mew drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Mew is an easy character to color. Just color his body pink and his eyes blue. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Mew from Pokemon.
