To draw Mewtwo step by step, follow along with the video tutorial below and pause the video after each step to go at your own pace. You may find it easier to follow the step-by-step drawings below. The Narrated step-by-step video tutorial:

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Step 1: Draw a big circle near the top of the paper as a guide for Mewtwo's head. First make four marks to determine the circle's height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. With every step, sketch lightly at first so that it's easy to erase if you make a mistake. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a circular object like a coin or a lid.

Step 2: Inside the head, draw a diagonal line as a construction guide to help you place Mewtwo's facial features later. On the lower, left side of the head, draw a small, angled line as a guide for the muzzle. Use the diagonal line inside the head as guide to help you place the muzzle.

Step 3: Under the head, draw two short lines for Mewtwo's neck. Under the neck draw a square-like shape for the top part of the torso. Make the top part of this shape wider than the bottom. Pay attention to the size of this shape in relation to the head.

Step 4: At the bottom, draw a big round shape as a guide for the lower half of Mewtwo's torso. This shape should be similar to a big circle with a flat top. The right side of this shape should bulge out more than the left side.

Step 5: At the top of the torso, on the corners, draw two long, angled lines as guides for Mewtwo's arms. The line on the left should be similar to the letter V. The line on the right should bend downward. At the end of each line, draw a small circle as a guide for the hands. Pay attention to the size of these circles.

Step 6: On the left side of the body, draw a very long angled line as a guide for Mewtwo's first leg. This line should be similar to a backward letter Z. To the right, draw a long, sloping, vertical line as a guide for the other leg. This line shouldn't bend or curve. On the right-most side, draw a very long, S-shaped line as a guide for the tail. Draw the tail as high up as the head.

That's it for the guides! For the next steps, use darker lines for a more defined drawing.

Step 7: Inside the head, under the diagonal construction line, draw a triangular shape for Mewtwo's eye. Make the bottom, right side of the eye round. Inside the eye, draw a small, U-shaped line for the iris. Inside the iris, draw an even smaller, U-shaped line and shade it in for the pupil. Off to the side, draw a tiny circle for a highlight.

Step 8: On top of the head, draw two short, angled lines for Mewtwo's horns. These shapes should be similar to little squares. Use the diagonal line to help you with their placement.

Step 9: Darken the outer edges of the circle and muzzle guide to create the rest of Mewtwo's head. Inside the muzzle, curve the line inward to create the mouth. Above the mouth, draw a tiny dot for the nostril.

Step 10: Use the line on the top, right side of the torso as a guide to draw Mewtwo's first arm. Follow the basic path of the guide to draw the top edge of the arm but make the shape curvier. At the bottom, draw another curved line for the lower edge of the arm. Curve he shape at the bottom for the forearm.

Step 11: Use the small circle on the right side as a guide to draw Mewtwo's first fist. Inside the circle, draw the three fingers using a series of curved lines. At the end of each line, draw a circular shape for the tips of the fingers. The whole fist should fit snuggly inside the circle guide.

Step 12: Darken the lines under the head for Mewtwo's neck. To the right, draw two more short, curved lines for the extra section behind the head. Draw the chest on the top part of the torso using a series of curved lines. The bottom part of this shape should be curved to form pectoral muscles.

Step 13: Use the sloping line on the lower, right side of the body as a guide to draw Mewtwo's first leg. Follow the shape of the guide and lightly sketch the shape of the leg around it. When you get the shape of the leg right, darken the lines. The top part of the leg should be big and round. Draw the middle section skinny and add a small circle at the joint on the left. At the bottom, draw two long, round shapes for the toes.

Step 14: Darken the outer edges of the initial torso guides to create the shape of Mewtwo's body. Make the shapes at the top rounder. Inside the torso, near the middle, draw a curved line.

Step 15: Use the angled line and small circle on the left side of the body as a guide to draw Mewtwo's other arm and fist. Darken the initial guide for the arm but make the shape curvier. Add a second line at the bottom for the lower edge of the arm. Don't make the arm too thick. Draw the shape of the fist within the small circle. Draw the curled fingers using a series of curved lines. Draw circular shapes for the fingertips.

Step 16: Use the long, angled line on the left side of the body as a guide to draw Mewtwo's other leg. Lightly sketch the shape of the leg around the guide. Make the top part big and round. The bottom part should be thin. When you get the shape right, darken the lines. Draw a small circle at the joint. At the tip of the foot, draw the toes using a couple of curved lines.

Step 17: Darken the line on the right to start drawing Mewtwo's tail. Continue to make the line longer and curve the top part down to create the tip of the tail. At the bottom, draw another long, curved line to make the shape thicker. The bottom of the tail should be thicker than the top, except for the tip. The tip of the tail should be round and thick.

Step 18: Go over the final sketch lines with a pen, marker or any other type of permanent ink. Take your time and be careful when you ink to avoid any accidents. After the ink dries, get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser for a cleaner Mewtwo drawing.

Final Step: Color your drawing using colored pencils, markers or crayons! Use light purple for the main part of the body. You can also leave the body blank and just add some shadows using purple. Color the lower half of the torso and the tail dark purple. Color the eye purple too. That's it! You know how a finished drawing of Mewtwo from Pokemon.
