How to Draw Kristoff

Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Kristoff from Disney's Frozen. A new cartoon drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Draw Ness 1

Step 1: Start by drawing a big circle near the top of the page. This will be the basic shape for the top part of Kristoff's head. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide.

Draw Ness 2

Step 2: Draw a curved line under the circle as a guide for Kristoff's chin and jaw. The line should curve on the lower right side for the chin and bend a little on the left for the jaw. These shapes form the guide for the head.

Draw Ness 3

Step 3: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the entire head, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the lines so that they contour to the shape. These will be construction lines that will help you place Kristoff's facial features later on.

Draw Ness 4

Step 4: Draw two small shapes similar to little footballs as guides for Kristoff's eyes. Draw them sitting on top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical construction line.

Draw Ness 5

Step 5: On the left side of the head, draw a curved line similar to a letter C as a guide for Kristoff's ear. The top of the ear should be just above the horizontal construction line.

Draw Ness 6

Step 6: On the sides of the head, draw a couple of lines that extend to the sides as guides for Kristoff's neck.

Draw Ness 7

Step 7: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic shape of Kristoff from Disney's Frozen. Now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

Draw Ness 8

Step 8: Draw Kristoff's nose between the eyes and use the construction lines as guides for the nose's placement. Draw the bridge of the nose to the left of the eye on the right. It should cover up the corner of the eye. The bottom of the nose should end on the lower edge of the main circle. To the left of the nose, draw a couple of smaller curved lines for the nostril.

Draw Ness 9

Step 9: Darken the shapes of Kristoff's eyes. Make the lines thicker at the top to represent the eyelashes. Add a line over each eye for the eyelids. Draw a tiny line under each eye for extra detail.

Draw Ness 10

Step 10: Draw a small circle inside each eye for the irises. In the middle of each iris, draw a big dot for the pupils. On the side of each pupil, add a tiny circle to represent glare in Kristoff's eyes.

Draw Ness 11

Step 11: Above each eye, draw a long narrow shape for Kristoff's eyebrows. The eyebrow on the left should be longer because of perspective. It should also be up higher to give him a more playful look.

Draw Ness 12

Step 12: Under the nose and on the outer edge of the original circle, draw a long line for Kristoff's mouth. Under that shape, draw a smaller curved line for the lower lip.

Draw Ness 13

Step 13: Kristoff's hair can be tricky, so it's divided into two parts. First draw a few V-shaped lines over the eyebrow on the left. Then draw a longer curved line toward the ear. Now draw a series of curved lines that end in spikes across the ear and down toward the neck.

Draw Ness 14

Step 14: Add the second part of Kristoff's hair by drawing more V-shaped lines over the other eye. Then add more curved lines that follow the basic path of the main circle.

Draw Ness 15

Step 15: Use the initial shapes as guides to draw the rest of Kristoff's face. Make the side of the face on the right side closer to the eye. Use a wavy line to create the cheekbone, then follow the basic path of the guides as you darken the line and create the chin and jaw. Darken the lower part of the C-shaped line on the left for the ear and add a few lines within the shape for the structure. Draw a few lines under the mouth for Kristoff's chin.

Draw Ness 16

Step 16: Kristoff's hat can be tricky too, so it's divided into three part. First draw the base of the hat with a couple of curved lines above the hair and right across the main circle. The lines should have a diagonal orientation.

Draw Ness 17

Step 17: Now draw a long curved line high above the head and outside of the main circle for the top part of Kristoff's hat. The line should bend a bit on the sides to give it a box-like shape.

Draw Ness 18

Step 18: Finish Kristoff's hat by drawing the round pom pom at the top. Use quick, short strokes as you draw the pom pom to give it texture.

Draw Ness 19

Step 19: Draw the collar of Kristoff's winter coat by using the initial lines as guides. Follow the basic path of the guides as you add the curved lines to create the collar. Draw a line under Kristoff's chin for the top part of his sweater.

Draw Ness 20

Step 20: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Kristoff from Disney's Frozen. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the next step.

Draw Ness 21

Step 21: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Kristoff! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Kristoff drawing.

Final Step: For a completely finished Kristoff drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color his hat and jacket dark blue. The trim on the jacket is gray with a dark red stripe on the sides. Color his skin peach. If you don't have peach, improvise and use yellow-orange or light brown. Add a bit of red on his cheeks and nose to indicate that his face is cold. Kristoff is blond, so color his hair yellow. His eyes and eyebrows are brown. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Kristoff from Disney's Frozen.
