Draw Piglet

Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Piglet from Walt Disney's Winnie the Pooh. A new cartoon drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

 Draw Piglet Step 1

Step 1: Start by drawing a small circle at the top half of the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide for Piglet's head.

 Draw Piglet Step 2

Step 2: Inside the circle, draw two intersecting lines, one vertical and one horizontal. The vertical line should extend below the circle about the half the length of the circle. Bend the lines so they follow the contour of the shape. These are construction lines that will help you place Piglet's facial features later on.

 Draw Piglet Step 3

Step 3: Below the main circle, draw a curved line similar to a letter C on its side. Use the length of the vertical construction line as a guide for the width of the curve. This is the lower part of Piglet's head.

 Draw Piglet Step 4

Step 4: Inside the main circle, below the horizontal construction line and to the left of the vertical construction line, draw a small triangle as a guide for Piglet's nose.

 Draw Piglet Step 5

Step 5: On top of Piglet's head, draw two arcs that are similar to upside-down letter V's as guides for his ears. Use the ends of the construction lines to help you with the placement of the ears.

 Draw Piglet Step 6

Step 6: Below the head and a little to the right, draw another circle as a guide for Piglet's body. The size of this circle should be a bit bigger than the original circle you drew for his head.

 Draw Piglet Step 7

Step 7: Draw two curved lines that connect the two main shapes to finish up the guide for Piglet's body.

 Draw Piglet Step 8

Step 8: Draw a diagonal line on the left side of Piglet's body right below the head as a guide for his hand. Under the body, draw two angled lines as guides for Piglet's feet.

 Draw Piglet Step 19

Step 9: That's it for the initial sketch! You have the basic Piglet shape. Now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

 Draw Piglet Step 10

Step 10: Use the initial triangle as a guide to draw Piglet's nose. Make the sides bulge out more and make the corners rounder. Above Piglet's nose, draw a curved line to represent the bridge of his nose.

 Draw Piglet Step 11

Step 11: Draw Piglet's eyes sitting on top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical construction line. They are basically two small ovals that are shaded in. Above each of Piglet's eyes, draw a curved line for the eyebrows.

 Draw Piglet Step 12

Step 12: Draw Piglet's mouth under his nose. Start by drawing a curved line that begins under the left side of his nose and extends to the right for the top part. Then draw another curved line that dips down more for the bottom part of his mouth.

 Draw Piglet Step 13

Step 13: Draw a curved line inside the mouth for Piglet's tongue. Draw a curved line on either end of the mouth for smile lines and another curved line under for Piglet's chin.

 Draw Piglet Step 14

Step 14: Use the initial shapes as guides to draw Piglet's ears. Make the tips of the ears a bit pointier and make the sides bulge out more. Draw a line at the bottom of the right ear for structure.

 Draw Piglet Step 15

Step 15: Draw the rest of Piglet's head using the initial shapes as guides.

 Draw Piglet Step 16

Step 16: Using a series of curved lines, draw Piglet's arm on the right side. His hand will be hiding behind his body, so there is no need to draw it.

 Draw Piglet Step 17

Step 17: Darken the outer lines of the shapes at the bottom to create Piglet's body. Draw six curved lines that are more or less spaced evenly inside Piglet's body.

 Draw Piglet Step 18

Step 18: Use the line on the left side as a guide to draw Piglet's left arm. Simply draw around the guide line making it thicker. Draw a couple of curved lines at the top for Piglet's hand and thumb.

 Draw Piglet Step 19

Step 19: Draw Piglet's legs under his body by using the initial lines as guides. Thicken up the lines and draw a round bulge below each leg for Piglet's feet.

 Draw Piglet Step 20

Step 20: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Winnie the Pooh's friend Piglet. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the next step.

 Draw Piglet Step 21

Step 21: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Piglet! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Piglet drawing.

 Draw Piglet Step Last

Final Step: For a completely finished Piglet drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils and even crayons! Piglet is basically different shades of pink. The main part of Piglet's body with the stripes and the inside of his mouth are a dark pink. Piglet's ears, nose and tongue are regular pink. His face, arms and legs are light pink. You can just vary the pressure on your pencil to get different shades of pink. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Piglet from Walt Disney's Winnie the Pooh.
