The written step-by-step video tutorial:

Intro: To learn how to draw Olaf the snowman, start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Draw Olaf Frozen 1

Step 1: Start by drawing a small circle near the top of the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just a guide for the top part of Olaf's head. Leave enough room at the bottom to draw his body later on.

Draw Olaf Frozen 2

Step 2: Under the circle, draw a long arc similar to the letter U. The space from the bottom of the circle to the bottom of the arc should be about the same as the height of the circle. These two shapes combined make up Olaf's head.

Draw Olaf Frozen 3

Step 3: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the entire head shape, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the lines a bit so that they contour to the shape of the head. Notice that the horizontal line is within the shape of the circle. These will be construction lines that will help you place Olaf's facial features later on.

Draw Olaf Frozen 4

Step 4: Draw a shape similar to a diamond near the lower right side of the first circle as a guide for Olaf's carrot nose. Use the guide lines to help you position Olaf's nose where it's supposed to be. The tip of the shape should stick out of the head a little bit on the right side.

Draw Olaf Frozen 5

Step 5: Draw two small circles right above the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical line. These will be guides for Olaf's eyes. The circle on the right should be a bit smaller because of perspective, and the bottom part should be blocked by Olaf's nose.

Step 6: Draw a big shape similar to a sideways letter D as a guide for Olaf's open mouth. Draw it under the original circle on the lower part of the head.

Step 7: Under Olaf's head, draw a circle as a guide for the top part of his body. The top part of the circle should be cut off by the head. This circle should be a bit smaller than the circle you drew step one.

Draw Olaf Frozen 8

Step 8: Draw a much bigger circle underneath as a guide for the lower part of Olaf's body. The top of this circle should also be cut off by the circle above it.

Draw Olaf Frozen 9

Step 9: Draw two long lines on either side of the middle circle. These will be guides for Olaf's stick arms. The arm on the right should be raised toward his head, and the arm on the left should face down in the opposite direction. Draw a few small lines at the ends of the arms as guides for Olaf's digits.

Step 10: Under Olaf's body, draw two arcs that look similar to the letter U as guides for his short feet.

Step 11: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic shape of Olaf, the snowman from Disney's Frozen. Now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

Step 12: Use the initial diamond-like shape as a guide to draw the carrot that makes up Olaf's nose. Follow the basic path of the diamond, but make the lines curvier as you darken them. Draw a few small lines within the shape for the detail of the carrot.

Step 13: Darken the circles above Olaf's nose to create the eyes. Inside each eye, draw a circle for the pupils. Shade the pupils but leave a tiny circle blank to represent the glare in his eyes.

Step 14: Above the eyes, draw two long, thin shapes as guides for Olaf's eyebrows. The eyebrows should be close to the top of the original circle and should be on either side of the vertical construction line.

Draw Olaf Frozen 15

Step 15: Draw the top part of Olaf's mouth as a long arc under the nose. Use the initial D shape as a guide to draw it. The arc starts on the lower left side of the original circle, then curves down toward the top of the D shape and ends on the right side of the head next to the nose. Under the arc, draw rectangle-like shape for Olaf's buck tooth.

Step 16: Darken the lower part of the D-shape to complete Olaf's mouth. Draw a small line underneath for the lower lip. On the top right side, draw another curved line for his cheek.

Step 17: Use the initial shapes from steps one and two as guides to complete Olaf's head. Follow the basic path of these shapes but make the top part of the head thinner.

Draw Olaf Frozen 18

Step 18: On top of Olaf's head, draw three long, thin shapes for the twigs that make up his hair. Make the twigs different sizes with the middle twig being the longest. They should also point in different directions.

Draw Olaf Frozen 19

Step 19: Use the initial lines as guides to draw the branches that make up Olaf's arms. Follow the basic path of the guides as you darken the lines and make the branches thicker. The lines should be straight and jagged. Avoid curved lines when drawing the arms. Don't forget to draw Olaf's fingers too!

Draw Olaf Frozen 20

Step 20: Darken the the shapes that make up the rest of Olaf's body and feet. Simply trace the lines that make up these shapes. Give the shapes a more angular look for the feeling of packed snow rather than perfectly spherical snowballs.

Step 21: Inside Olaf's body, draw a few roundish shapes for the rocks that make up his buttons.

Draw Olaf Frozen 22

Step 22: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Olaf, the snowman from Disney's Frozen. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look, or continue to the step below to go for a more finished look.

Draw Olaf Frozen 23

Step 23: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then erase all of the pencil marks. You now have a finished inked drawing of Olaf! You can stop here or go to the final step to color your Olaf drawing.

Draw Olaf Snowman Frozen

Final Step: For a completely finished drawing of Olaf, you have to color it. You can use anything you want: markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color his hair, eyebrows and arms dark brown. The carrot for his nose is orange, and the buttons are black. If you'd like, you can add a bit of gray to the body for a more three-dimensional look. Add the gray inside the mouth and on the sides and bottom of the main shapes. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Olaf, the Snowman from Disney's Frozen.
