How to Draw Bonnie

Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Bonnie from the Five Nights at Freddy's games. A new cartoon drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

Step 1: Start by drawing a big circle as a guide for the top half of Bonnie's head. The circle doesn't have to be perfect. It's just a guide. Leave room at the top for his ears and at the bottom for his jaw.

Step 2: Under the head, draw a big U-shaped line as a guide for Bonnie's lower jaw. The line should be wide and a bit flat at the bottom.

Step 3: Next, draw two intersecting lines across Bonnie's entire head, one vertical and one horizontal. These will be construction lines that will help you place the facial features later on. The vertical line should be straight and in the middle of the head. The horizontal line should curve more and be closer to the middle of the original circle.

Step 4: Sitting on top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical construction line, draw two circles as guides for Bonnie's eye sockets.

Step 5: On top of the head, draw two long curved lines as guides for Bonnie's ears. The shapes of the lines should be similar to an upside-down letter U.

Step 6: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic Bonnie shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

Step 7: Darken the shape of the circles inside the head to create Bonnie's eye sockets. Make the top and bottom of the eye sockets a bit flatter.

Step 8: Inside each socket, draw a smaller circle for Bonnie's actual eyeballs. The tops of the circles are covered by the sockets, so don't draw the entire circle.

Step 9: Inside each eye, draw small circle for Bonnie's pupils and shade it in. On the side of each pupil, draw an even smaller circle to represent glare.

Step 10: Draw Bonnie's nose right under the section where the two construction lines intersect. The shape of the nose is kind of like a wide letter V at the bottom with a curved line on top.

Step 11: Now draw Bonnie's muzzle using the bottom part of the original circle as a guide. The muzzle consists of a line that starts on the left side of the nose, then curves down and touches the lower edge of the original circle. The line then moves up a bit, then back down and touches the lower edge of the main circle again this time on the right. The line for Bonnie's muzzle then finally ends on the right side of the nose.

Step 12: Draw the tips of the ears by using the upside-down U shapes as guides. The tips of Bonnie's ears are folded down, and their shape is similar to a triangle with rounded corners. Try to draw both tips as symmetrical as possible.

Step 13: Add the bottom of the ears by following the basic path of the upside-down U shapes. The bottom edge of Bonnie's ears should be a little higher than the top of the head.

Step 14: Draw another small U-shaped line inside each ear for extra detail on Bonnie's inner ear structure.

Step 15: Below each ear, draw a small shape to represent the metallic piece that connects Bonnie's ears to the head. The shape should be similar to a square that's missing the top part.

Step 16: Use the original circle as a guide to draw the rest of the head. Follow the basic path of the circle but make the sides bulge out a bit to create Bonnie's cheekbones.

Step 17: Draw the lower jaw by using the wide U-shaped line under the head as a guide. Darken the initial line and add a second similar, but smaller, line within the shape for the edge of Bonnie's jaw.

Step 18: Add another wide, curved line under the muzzle for Bonnie's open mouth.

Step 19: Inside Bonnie's mouth, near the bottom, draw a row of small oval-like shapes with semi-pointy tops for the teeth.

Step 20: Under Bonnie's lower jaw, draw the bow tie using a series of short, curved lines. The open lower jaw is blocking the top part of the bow tie, so don't draw the whole thing.

Step 21: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Bonnie from the Five Nights at Freddy's game. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.

Step 22: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. If you'd like, add an extra circle inside each pupil to create the irises. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Bonnie! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Bonnie drawing.

Final Step: For a completely finished Bonnie drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Bonnie's main color is purple. The eyes are dark pink. The inside of the eye sockets and nose are black. The inside of the mouth is dark brown, and the bow tie is red. Leave the inside of the ears, the muzzle and the eyeballs blank. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Bonnie from the Five Nights at Freddy's game.
