The written step-by-step video tutorial:
Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Draw a big circle near the top of the paper as a guide for Pluto's head. First make four marks to determine the circle's height and width. Then connect the marks using curved lines. If you're struggling to draw the circle, just trace the outer rim of a circular object like a coin or a lid.
Step 2: Inside the head, draw a curved, horizontal line as a guide to help you place Pluto's facial features later. Draw this line close to the bottom. Add a curved, vertical line on the top, left for another construction guide.
Step 3: On the lower, left side of the circle, draw a sideways arc as a guide for the top part of Pluto's muzzle. Pay attention to where this line begins and ends, as well as its size in relation to the circle. Below the circle and sideways arc, draw a big, U-shaped line as a guide for Pluto's open lower jaw.
Step 4: On the lower, right side of the head, draw a big circle as a guide for the top part of Pluto's body. Use the four-marks method to draw this circle too. Pay attention to the size of this circle in relation to the head. On the bottom, left, draw a circle that's about half the size of the previous circle as a guide for the lower half of the body. Don't draw the circles too far apart, otherwise the body will be too long.
Step 5: Connect the body circles using curved lines to finish the guide for the torso. Draw two short lines that connect the head to the top body circle as the guide for Pluto's neck.
