Use the video and step-by-step drawing instructions below to learn how to draw Belle from Disney's Beauty and the Beast. A new cartoon drawing tutorial is uploaded every week, so stay tooned!

Intro: Start drawing Belle with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.

How to Draw Belle Step 1

Step 1: Start drawing Belle with an egg shape that points down in the middle of the page. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s just the basic shape for Belle's head.

How to Draw Belle Step 2

Step 2: Draw two curved, wavy lines at the bottom of that shape. These will be the basic shapes for Belle's neck and shoulders.

How to Draw Belle Step 3

Step 3: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the egg shape, one vertical and one horizontal. Bend the lines so they follow the contour of the shape. Draw two smaller lines in between the horizontal construction line and the bottom of the egg. These will be construction lines that will help you place Princess Belle's facial features later on.

How to Draw Belle Step 4

Step 4: On top of the horizontal construction line and on either side of the vertical construction line, draw two small shapes that resemble fat footballs for Belle's eyes. The shape on the left should be smaller because of perspective.

How to Draw Belle Step 5

Step 5: Now draw guides for this Disney princess' hair. On the top part of the of Belle's head, draw a line that comes to a point at the vertical construction line and resembles a wide letter M. To the left of that, draw another curved line that begins at the vertical construction line and ends on the outside of Belle's head.

How to Draw Belle Step 6

Step 6: On top of Belle's head, draw a half oval for her bun and a long curved line that goes over her shoulder. This will be a guide for the hair that drapes down.

How to Draw Belle Step 7

Step 7: That's it for the initial sketch of Belle from Beauty and the Beast! You have the basic shape for this Disney princess, so now go in and tighten your Belle drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.

How to Draw Belle Step 8

Step 8: Darken in the shape of Princess Belle's eyes and give her thick curved eyelashes. Draw a small curve above each of her eyes to represent eyelids. Inside her eyes, draw a series of three circles, one inside the other. These will represent Belle's iris, pupil and glare.

How to Draw Belle Step 9

Step 9: Draw an angled curve above each eye to give Belle eyebrows. The curves should start out thick near the vertical construction line and come to a point near the sides of Belle's head.

How to Draw Belle Step 10

Step 10: Create the bridge of Belle's nose by drawing a curved line on the vertical construction line next to the left eye. Then draw a series of tiny curved lines that sit on top of the smaller of the horizontal construction lines for Belle's nose and nostril.

How to Draw Belle Step 11

Step 11: Use the small construction line below the nose to help you place this Disney princess' mouth. Belle's upper lip is similar to a wide letter M with a curve underneath it. Make Princess Belle's lower lip by drawing two wide letter U’s on top of each other.

How to Draw Belle Step 12

Step 12: Tighten the shape of Belle's face by using the egg shape as a guide. Be sure to dip in the line toward her eye a bit to form her cheekbone.

How to Draw Belle Step 13

Step 13: Belle's hair is tricky, so it’s divided into three parts. Using the initial lines as guides, draw the part of her hair that wraps around her head by using many curved lines. See the image above for reference of Belle's hair.

How to Draw Belle Step 14

Step 14: Darken the shape of Belle's bun and add a small line at the bottom to represent her headband. Draw a few lines within the bun to give it extra detail.

How to Draw Belle Step 15

Step 15: Again, use the initial hair line as a guide to draw in the part of Belle's hair that flows down over her shoulder. Use the image above for further reference for how to draw this Disney princess' hair.

How to Draw Belle Step 16

Step 16: Draw a small circle near the top part of Belle's jaw for her earring and draw a couple of tiny curves for the bit of her ear that’s visible. Darken Belle's neck and shoulders as well.

How to Draw Belle Step 17

Step 17: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of Princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.

How to Draw Belle Step 18

Step 18: For a more finished, inked look of Belle from Beauty and the Beast, carefully go over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of Princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Belle drawing.

How to Draw Belle Completed Drawing

Final Step: For a completely finished Princess Belle drawing, you have to color it. You can use markers, color pencils or even crayons! Color Belle's hair, eyes and eyebrows brown, her lips pink and her headband and earring yellow. Belle's skin is a peach color. If you don’t have peach, improvise and use yellow-orange or light brown. Experiment! That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of Princess Belle from Beauty and the Beast.
