How to Draw the Pink Panther

Intro: Start off with a pencil sketch. In the beginning stages, don’t press down too hard. Use light, smooth strokes for sketching.
Step 1: Start by drawing a long oval with a horizontal orientation. The oval doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s only a guide for the Pink Panther’s head.
Step 2: Next, draw two intersecting lines across the oval, one vertical and one horizontal. The horizontal line should be straight, and the vertical line should bend a little and be a bit off center to the right.
Step 3: Draw a circle on both sides of the vertical line, each sitting on top of the horizontal line. These will be guides for the Pink Panther's eyes. The eye on the right should be slightly smaller because of perspective.
Step 4: On the lower right quadrant of the oval, draw an upside-down triangle as a guide for the Pink Panther's nose.
Step 5: Below the Pink Panther's nose, draw an oval of similar shape to the head but smaller as a guide for the muzzle. The lower part of the oval should sit outside of the Pink Panther's head, and the ends of the oval should meet the top corners of the triangle.
Step 6: Below the small oval, draw a wide arc similar to the letter U as a guide for the Pink Panther's chin.
Step 7: On top of the Pink Panther's head, draw two circles as guides for the ears. The circles for the ears should be about as big as the circles for the eyes.
Step 8: That’s it for the initial sketch! You have the basic Pink Panther shape, so now go in and tighten your drawing. From this point on, press harder with your pencil in order to get darker lines and a more defined sketch.
Step 9: Darken the Pink Panther's nose using the initial shape as a guide. Make it more round at the corners. Draw the bridge of the nose by drawing a triangle-like line above the nose that connects from the vertical construction line to the corners of the nose. Notice that the bridge of the Pink Panther's nose overlaps the eye on the right.
Step 10: Tighten the shapes of the Pink Panther's eyes by darkening the outlines. Draw a line across the middle of each to represent the Pink Panther’s half-open eyelids. Inside each eye draw a circle and shade it in for his pupils.
Step 11: Above the eyes draw two thick, curved shapes for the Pink Panther's eyebrows. The eyebrow on the left should hover above the eye higher than the one on the right. Also the eyebrow on the left should have a downward curve, and the other one should have a upward curve to give the Pink Panther the classic mischievous look.
Step 12: Use the oval below the nose as a guide to draw the Pink Panther's muzzle. It basically consists of two circles on either side of the nose. On the upper left side of the left circle, draw a couple of lines to represent the Pink Panther’s sly smile.
Step 13: Darken the shape of the Pink Panther's chin and draw two long curved lines on each side of the muzzle for his whiskers.
Step 14: Give the Pink Panther's ears more shape by making them thinner at the bottom and wider on top. Draw a similar shape inside each shape to represent the inner structure of the ear.
Step 15: Use the original oval shape as a guide to draw the Pink Panther's head. Draw a couple of vertical lines at the bottom for his neck.
Step 16: That’s it! You now have a nice sketch of the Pink Panther. You can stop at this quick drawing for a rough, sketchy look or go for a more finished look by continuing to the step below.
Step 17: For a more finished, inked look, carefully draw over the final sketch lines with a pen or marker. Wait for the ink to dry, and then get rid of every pencil mark with an eraser. You now have a finished inked drawing of the Pink Panther! You can stop here or go to the final step to complete your Pink Panther drawing.
Final Step: For a completely finished Pink Panther drawing, you have to color it. The color of his head and ears is pink, of course! The insides of his ears and muzzle are a slightly lighter pink. His nose is red, and his eyes are yellow. That’s it! You now have a completed drawing of the Pink Panther.
